What our placement numbers actually mean
Around 85% of PSIC’s 2-year BSS ADS graduates are placed within six months of completing the programme. Average starting salary: Rs 5.5–6 LPA. These come from our placement tracking across recent batches. They are not aspirational figures.
The 15% who are not placed within six months are dealing with specific constraints — they will not relocate, they are waiting for a specific employer type, or there is a personal timing issue. We keep working with them after that six-month mark. Placement support does not end at graduation.
For short professional courses — IOSH Managing Safely, OSHA 30-Hour — we do not track placement in the same formal way. These courses are mostly taken by working professionals adding a qualification, not people looking for their first job. The placement conversation for those programmes is different.
Companies that hire PSIC graduates
Over 200 corporate clients have sent safety staff to PSIC for training over 15 years. Many of those relationships work in both directions now — the same companies contact us when they have safety officer openings because they know the calibre of our graduates.
Power and energy: NTPC Barh contractors, BPCL Barauni contractors, NTPC’s EPC partners including L&T Power. Safety Officers, HSE Coordinators, Site Safety Supervisors.
Steel and mining: SAIL Bokaro contractors, Eastern Coalfields contractors. Safety Inspector and Officer roles in the Bihar-Jharkhand belt.
Pharma and chemicals: Cipla, Alembic Pharmaceuticals, IFFCO Patna region operations. EHS Coordinator and Safety Officer roles. Pharma typically pays Rs 0.5–1 LPA higher starting than construction for the same qualification level.
Construction and infrastructure: NHAI road project contractors across Bihar, bridge and dam construction projects, Shapoorji Pallonji infrastructure work. The largest single employment category for our fresh graduates.
Gulf placements: Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar — primarily in construction and manufacturing. The typical combination that Gulf employers accept: 2-year BSS ADS diploma plus IOSH Managing Safely or OSHA 30-Hour.

How placement support works at PSIC
Resume rewrite: Before you graduate, your placement coordinator rewrites your CV specifically for safety roles. Generic CVs do not get safety callbacks. A safety-specific resume highlights your practical sessions, the risk assessments you completed during training, and the hazard categories your coursework covered. This single change makes a real difference to screening rates.
LinkedIn and Naukri profiles: Both platforms are set up or optimised. Most safety officer jobs in India are filled through Naukri. Your profile needs to appear in recruiter searches for the roles you are targeting.
Mock interviews: At least two mock interviews with practicing Safety Managers or HSE Managers — external professionals, not PSIC faculty. They ask the technical questions you will face in real interviews: hazard identification scenarios, incident investigation walkthroughs, permit to work procedures. They tell you where you are weak. You fix it before the real interview.
Referrals: PSIC has built direct contacts at NTPC, SAIL, BPCL, Cipla, and most major Bihar employers over 15 years. When a vacancy opens, your name goes to the relevant contact directly — not into a general inbox. That is the single biggest practical advantage of our placement support.
Follow-up: After interviews, your coordinator follows up with hiring managers on your behalf. Fresh candidates do not usually know how to chase a delayed hiring decision without damaging their candidacy. We handle it.
